The Martini Bar

Just off the reception area within the Cellars building of The Cellars-Hohenort in Constantia, Cape Town, The Martini Bar is an elegant space suited for both high tea occasions and sophisticated evening drinks.

Golf enthusiasts have a Gary Player-designed putting and chipping green to enjoy. Along with a large heated pool, tennis courts and vineyards, and beautifully curated gardens to explore.

The elegant rooms of Hotel Cellars-Hohenort are uniquely decorated with artworks by South African artists. All rooms have air conditioning, a seating area, a TV, and offer views of Table Mountain or the manicured gardens.

The Madiba Villa

Named after former South African president Nelson Mandela, The Madiba Villa is a private double-storey villa secreted away in the beautiful Cellars-Hohenort gardens.

The Madiba Villa is self-contained in that a private driveway leads up to its entrance. A large open-plan sitting room and dining room welcome its guests, while three double en-suite bedrooms lead off the central area. The Madiba Villa also offers a private courtyard and swimming pool for its guests’ use.

A fireplace, air-conditioning and under-floor heating ensure maximum comfort for guests at all times, while conveniences include a bar area and service kitchen.

The Madiba Villa is 264m2 in size. Maximum two people per room.

Premier Suites

Each individually-decorated, the eight Premier Suites at The Cellars-Hohenort range from classic to contemporary, each spacious with either a private garden space or views over the sprawling gardens of the property.

Premier Suites are available in either a split-level suite or one-level suite, and each contains a separate lounge, basic kitchen area, satellite television, large bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

These suites range from 62-77m2 in size. Maximum two people per room.

Each named after a person involved with the development of the property or the Constantia area, the Suites at The Cellars-Hohenort have each been individually decorated, creating their own signature look. Inspiration drawn from the views of the surrounding gardens are reflected throughout the Suites.

These Suites all offer a spacious lounge area, walk-in closet and mini-bar, and range from 41-75m2 in size.

Luxury Double Rooms with Verandah

These luxurious rooms, located in the historic Hohenort building, open out onto a verandah area that overlooks not only the elegant gardens of The Cellars-Hohenort, but on clear days offers views all the way to False Bay.

Individually decorated, these rooms reflect a classic style leading out onto the private verandah space. A small lounge area in each room gives guests a spot to relax and enjoy the views outside.

Luxury Double Rooms

With a choice between the Cellars Main House and the historic Hohenort Manor House, guests can select which Luxury Double room suits them best. These spacious rooms offer either vistas over the Cape Peninsula from the Hohenort building, or sprawling views over the incredible gardens.

Luxury Double rooms in the Cellars Main House are more contemporary in design, while rooms in the Hohenort building are decorated in a traditional Edwardian style.

The two restaurants situated at The Marine, which are available as event venues or as breakaway spaces, are The Pavilion and SeaFood at The Marine. High-gloss tables in the most beautiful, subtle colours, including seafoam grey, a gentle hint of sea blue and seashell lilac, play with the senses and lift the stone-grey colours flowing throughout the space.

The Pavilion

Overlooking the cliffs of Hermanus and surrounds, The Pavilion honours the bountiful Overberg region. As with all of the restaurants under the umbrella of The Collection by Liz McGrath, The Pavilion displays a distinctive regional identity. The menu’s delicate and intricate dishes, paired perfectly with locally produced wines, reflect the Overberg and its distinct flavours and terroir.

This glamorous, edgy restaurant boasts beautiful views over Walker Bay, while the striking black-and-white checkerboard floor is resonant of 1920s glamour, linking all the elements of the restaurant’s interior design. A delicate houndstooth fabric covers the Carver chairs, while a black floral print introduces a softer touch.

The centrepiece of the restaurant’s interior is the glass wine cellar. Centrally situated, it demands the attention of the guests, appearing to make the individual bottles float under the twinkling,star-like LED ceiling lights.

The Sun Lounge

Overlooking the incredible Walker Bay, The Sun Lounge at The Marine in Hermanus is the ideal spot to enjoy drinks and snacks while searching the waters for resident and visiting marine life.

Swimming Pool

Situated in The Marine’s internal courtyard, the saltwater pool is heated for comfort, while guests can enjoy relaxing on the comfortable poolside loungers set out each morning. An outdoor shower adjacent to the pool allows guests to rinse off after their refreshing swim.

David Rawdon Suite

The largest suite at The Marine, the magnificent David Rawdon Suite, is named after the previous owner of the hotel. Large bay windows in the lounge area overlook the ocean, while a comfortable loft bedroom looks over the suite and out beyond the gardens towards the ocean, through a porthole window.

The largest of the Premier Suites offers a Georgian-style bay window that frames the incredible surrounding views of Walker Bay.

A large bathroom with separate shower and bath, his-and-hers basins and a walk-in cupboard offer the luxury of space in this suite.

The seven, individually decorated Premier Suites at The Marine each offer a view over the expansive ocean vista surrounding the hotel. Two of the Premier Suites offer guests views from private balconies.
