The Pavilions is the main dining restaurant that serves exceptional buffet-style cuisines at Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner for guest on all meal plan as well as non-in-house guests. Cuisine options include indigenous African, Continental, Asian, Arabic and Mediterranean. Breakfast is usually traditional English. Beverages available range from fresh juices to international wines and spirits. The restaurant has a capacity to seat 680 people. Entertainment is provided.

Minazi Café

With a capacity of 92 people, the restaurant is open 24-hours. The restaurant is not included in half or full board packages. Minazi is a Swahili word for coconut tree. It is the resort’s bistro style restaurant, snack bar and pizzeria with a wood-fired pizza oven that serves light meals, a rich variety of our signature freshly brewed coffee, large selection of premium wines, juices, smoothies, health drinks, and an enticing selection of Italian ice creams, milkshakes, smoothies and patisserie. The restaurant also has a special menu for children with a children’s buffet for early dinner where specially trained Sarova staff look after the children.

Lido Lounge - Seafood Restaurant

Lido Lounge is a Chaine des Rotisseurs certified fine dining, al-fresco restaurant set amidst the palms on the beach with a stunning ocean view. The outdoor terrace provides spectacular views of the sea. It serves fresh seafood in a variety of fresh cuisine dishes as well as traditional favourites like grilled prawns, lobsters and crab. We design intimate dinners on the beach to celebrate special moments with family. The restaurant has a capacity for 45 people and is open seven days a week (both lunch and dinner), subject to the weather.

With breathtaking ocean views and outstanding entertainment, Cocos is the perfect place to unwind after a hectic day. There is a DJ every night, special salsa nights on Fridays, karaoke every Saturday and live dance or acrobat performances on other days. Cocos Beach Bar has a capacity of 150 people. Bar snacks and beverages are served all day with a special happy hour every evening from 06:00 pm to 07:00 pm.

Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa offers a diverse array of activities for guests of all ages. On land, you can enjoy tennis, beach volleyball, archery, and a well-equipped fitness centre. The Ozone Kids’ Club provides supervised indoor and outdoor activities for children aged 4–12. For water enthusiasts, the resort features five swimming pools, a waterslide, and a range of water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, and glass-bottom boat tours. Guests can also explore the nearby Mombasa Marine Park, go deep-sea diving, or take guided nature walks along the beach. Lawn Tennis

The resort has two tennis courts and racquets and balls are provided on request.

Beach Volleyball

A popular sport with most guests. The animation team organises daily matches for guests to participate in.

Table Tennis & Pool Tables

Guests can also enjoy a game of table tennis or pool at their leisure.

Water Polo & Water Volleyball

The animation team has a daily calendar of activities that include water sports that are held at the large Lido pool near the beach.

Archery

Archery is a sport that involves the use of a bow and a number of arrows. The bow is used to shoot the arrows at targets, either static or moving. Archery is a fun and relaxing hobby that men and women of all ages can enjoy. It is a quiet, solitary sport that can be competitive or not, and doesnt require a whole lot of physical fitness or skill.

Sarova Whitesands has five large free-form swimming pools:

Lido Pool

The pool has a built-in bar serving cocktails, alcoholic drinks, juices and other drinks and is the venue for pool aerobics each morning.

Children’s Pool & Slide

Immensely popular with families and children, it features a small baby pool, and shallow children’s pool with a water slide.

Diving Pool

With a depth of several feet at the deep end, the pool is safe for diving and also serves as the learning place for the Buccaneer Diving School.

Shopping

The City Mall (formerly known as The Nyali Mall) is Mombasa’s first truly ultra modern shopping mall and leisure centre. The mall adjoins the existing Nakumatt Nyali complex, already the most popular and busiest shopping centre in the North Coast, inter-connected to form a single shopping and leisure experience for the public. City Mall has fulfilled a lack of retail and leisure space in Mombasa and has set a new standard by offering ultra-modern shopping environment and facilities. The mall caters for the needs of a fast expanding middle class income group residing in the surrounding areas and for tourists staying in the numerous nearby hotels and apartments.

The mall comprises 7 floors that include 2 lower basement parking floors, 4 shopping and leisure floors above ground with retail units, banking halls, fashion brands, cinemas, fast food stalls, restaurants and cafés. All floors are served with elevators and shopping and leisure floors also have escalators.

Safe and secure parking is also provided in the new mall.

Marine

Mombasa Marine Park

Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort has the longest stretch of natural beachfront on the east African coast. It is classified as a Marine Park by the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) to protect the sea animals, plants and coral reef. The Blue Lagoon Water Sports Centre located within the resort enables guests to visit the reef in glass bottom boats to view the spectacular marine life. You can also choose to dive or snorkel among the tropical fish near the coral reef. KWS collects a park fee charged to both Kenya residents and non-residents wishing to visit the reef or go snorkelling.

Deep-Sea Diving

Buccaneer Diving, the biggest diving operator on the north coast led by Kenya s only PADI Course Director, has its premier IDC Centre at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort where you can learn diving and experienced divers can go deep-sea diving with Buccaneer. The Blue Lagoon Water Sports Centre offers a wide range of water sports including sailing, water scooters, para-sailing and snorkelling.

Ozone Kids Club

Children are especially welcome at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, a popular getaway destination on the Northern coast for families. To ensure parents get as much of a break as the children, there is a large team of specially trained staff that keep children happy and entertained from morning till evening. A wide variety of activities are planned for the day including indoor activities and outdoor activities at the Ozone club.

Tulia Spa

Tulia is the Swahili word for relax and the Tulia Spa at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort is designed to help you relax and rejuvenate. The Spa bandas are set on greens at the beach side at one end of the resort, designed for privacy and relaxation in the quiet zone. Facilities include massage bandas, Ayurvedic massage rooms, outdoor Jacuzzi, reflexology pool, steam and sauna.

Health Club

For the fitness minded, the health club offers a range of state-of-the-art exercise equipment including cross trainers, exercise cycles, free weights, multi gym, rowing machines and treadmills, free of charge to guests. There is also an instructor on duty at all times to assist you with your workout. Children below 18yrs are not allowed to use the gym.
