The resort is top notch. Very service oriented from check in to the bellman bringing the bottle opener to the room.

Great place right on the Zambezi River. In the morning or evening you might have elephants walk by, or monkeyed or pumas.

Endenic stay in Victoria Falls.

The hotel is an amazingly idyllic location, but convenient to town and the Falls. It has a particularly fine restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Altogether, a lovely place to stay.

This hotel’s location could not be more idyllic, situated along the banks of the iconic Zambezi River, among towering indigenous trees and only 4 kilometres from Africa’s Natural World Wonder, Victoria Falls – so close, in fact, that on a clear, quiet day you can hear the thunder and see the spray of the mighty waterfall from your room.

Pom Pom is located on Pom Pom Island in the heart of the Okavango Delta and on the head waters of the Xudum river system. The camp sits in a private concession to the west of the Moremi Game Reserve and on the head-waters of the Xudum river system. Pom Pom offers great Okavango scenery with game drives, night drives, walks and mokoro safaris as the main activities on offer. The camp was completely rebuilt in 2005.

Pom Pom camp is another jewel of the Okavango, where hippos grunt and frolic in front of the camp’s permanent lagoon, surrounded by miles of reeds. In this clear water oasis, a mokoro safari offers you a wonderful means of viewing wildlife as you glide between palm fringed islands. PomPom Camp is short 20-minute scenic flight from Maun. This is a camp for the safari traditionalist!

Meals are generally served as a buffet and guests are all seated together. Delicious meals are prepared at the camp and served in the main dining area. After dinner, enjoy coffee or Cognac - served around the campfire - as you contemplate the events of the day.

There is the possibility of seeing numerous different species of game, however Pom Pom is also about the nature experience as much as anything else. In addition to big game, Pom Pom is a bird-watcher’s paradise and within a maze of water passages you will find the busy Pied King Fisher and countless other birds that flourish in the water ways. One such bird is the African Jacana, or commonly known as the “Lilly Trotter” which, with its long sticklike leg’s runs along the top of lily pads without causing so much as a ripple! And….. for your comfort, game drives are offered in new, luxury open-viewing land cruisers, with a tracker and a driver / guide. Giant Eagle Owls are resident in the camp and the rare and elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl is regularly sighted.

Accommodation consists of nine large walk-in safari tents in true traditional safari style, all with full en-suite semi-open ablution facilities. The bathrooms are roofless, but are enclosed for privacy, security and importantly to offer you a truly unique bush adventure. The tents are uniquely positioned under the shade of the surrounding trees and overlook the PomPom lagoon with stunning views. There is also a family safari tent that can accommodate four guests, with en-suite facilities and close proximity to the main lodge.

Camaraderie prevails around a camp fire each night as bushlore anecdotes are recounted whilst a gracious meal is prepared and elegant wines uncorked. Over hot coffee and perhaps a fine cognac, you will re-live the day’s events and compare notes on fishing and photography – and of course plan for another day that will be remembered long after your return to civilization. In the main thatched building you will find a cozy bar, lounge and table settings for imaginative meals prepared by our safari chefs. Our camp staff are proficient at their skills and will give you advice, suggestions and help during your stay. They will also give you a warm welcome at the end of each day. PomPom is known as much for its “soul” as for the game and wildlife in the area.
